Jordanian Breast Cancer program concluded a Training-of-Trainers (TOTs) course
The Jordanian Breast Cancer program concluded a Training-of-Trainers (TOTs) course which lasted for six days in each governorate for a group of community-based women activists of volunteers and health workers in Irbid and Zarqa. The training was funded by the European Union and involved activities to build capacities of participants through training and facilitation of training sessions, health areas such as raising awareness on the importance of early detection of breast cancer. Also, the training discussed the need to follow healthy lifestyle by exercising regularly, eating healthy food, stop smoking and especially smoking (hookah) because of its significant impact of increasing the chances of cancer in general and breast cancer in particular
The program addressed gender issues and leadership to emphasize the importance of educating women about their rights and stressing the importance of their financial and economic independence, because of her role in influencing her decisions, especially in health
This training came as one of the activities of the European Union support project for civil society organizations in Blended Learning and Behavior Change for Local Development "Training of Trainers", which will be followed by a series of trainings (Agents of change) aimed at sensitizing the community to the topics raised and then conducting community activities to deliver these health and community messages to the target group in Zarqa and Irbid.
