Patient and Survivor Support

SANAD is a local support group comprised of breast cancer survivors and volunteers. Members have been trained to offer support to patients undergoing treatment, help alleviate the anxieties and concerns patients may have throughout their treatment, and enhance patients’ emotional, spiritual and psychological state of mind.

The SANAD Group promotes a positive attitude towards life beyond a cancer diagnosis, and helps new female breast cancer patients reclaim a positive body image and a healthy lifestyle. Members of SANAD work to raise awareness on breast cancer early detection in Jordan and continue to share their own personal experiences with cancer.

Daily, weekly and monthly group and individual meetings are organized for patients and their families.

In 2009, the SANAD group was nominated for Her Majesty Queen Rania’s Award for Community Champions (Ahel Al Himmeh). SANAD was one of only 29 nominees for this prestigious award, out of a total of 40,000 applicants.
